Radio Controlled Atomic Clock

The most accurate clock in the world today...the Cesium Atomic Clock in Ft. Collins, Colorado. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) broadcasts a radio signal from a site near Ft. Collins on radio station WWVB. The accuracy of this time signal is within one second per million years! The signal is the key to the accuracy of the radio controlled clocks. Our German made radio controlled clocks take this accuracy one step further by allowing the user to input their local time zone and it automatical-ly adjusts to daylight savings time. The signal the clock receives is updated three times per day, insuring that you have the most accu-rate time available (guess that eliminates any excuse for being late for work!)

Because of the nature of radio signals, reception of the signal will vary. Performance of this movement will be affected inside metal buildings and the use of metal clock dials should be avoided. We definitely suggest that you consider the wood clock dials that we offer on the bottom of page 28 as they will not interfere with the radio signals.
